About Us

Night Riot is a female-led theatre company based in London that aims to make theatre that shines light on issues in society that we believe deserves more education, visibility, justice, fairness, empathy and activism.

We recognize that there are many voices that often go unheard, and our goal is to give these voices a platform through the use of verbatim, capturing the thoughts, feelings, experiences, and lives of real people.

We believe that theatre has the power to engage, inform, and inspire, and we use this power to explore important issues in a way that is both physical and expressive. Our productions are designed to be both thought-provoking and entertaining, engaging our audiences in interesting and necessary discourse that can make them laugh and cry.

At Night Riot, we are committed to creating theatre that is not only entertaining but also socially responsible. We believe that theatre can be a powerful tool for change, and we strive to use our productions to promote empathy, activism, and positive social change. We are dedicated to creating a world in which everyone's voice is heard and valued, and we hope to inspire others to join us in this mission.

Our Story

Welcome to Night Riot, a theatre company founded by friends Emily and Charlotte. Our friendship began 15 years ago when we were studying for a Drama & Theatre Studies BA at Royal Holloway University of London, we quickly became close friends and creative partners, bonding over our shared love of theatre, pesto pasta, and cheap wine.

Over the last 15 years we have trained as Actors, Directors and Teachers, lived in Asia, started a performing arts school and worked on many creative projects nationally and internationally, remaining good friends.

Now, we're excited to share our passion with others and create thought-provoking, radical and inspiring theatrical experiences that will have a lasting impact on our audience.
